Connecting MacBook to a TV via Miracast in Mac OS X

All you need to do to work with miracast on Mac OS X is a TV that supports this WiFi standard. It can be either a built-in module or an external adapter.

The connection takes place directly, bypassing all sorts of routers or repeaters. The Miracast TV adapter gives out a wireless signal, and the Macbook connects to it. This is convenient because it does not take away unnecessary resources and does not slow down the router, which can be a challenge, such as distributing files over the network or online games.

The connection process isn't complicated. The first thing you need to do is join the wireless signal from your TV. To do this, click on the wifi icon and choose the 'MiraScreen' network.

After the connection, the 'AirPlay' icon will appear - click on it and select MyraScreen again.

And the MacBook screen is duplicated on the TV.

But that's not all - if you click the AirPlay icon again, you'll see a feature like 'Use as a separate monitor'. If you activate it, the TV will turn into a second monitor - a virtual desktop extension that you can drag a window of one of the open applications.
