PS Remote Play is a companion macOS application for the PlayStation gaming system that offers you the possibility to control the device from the comfort of your Mac.
The utility can connect the devices automatically by using your Sony account, but it can also be configured manually in case the automatic detection does not work properly.
Connect your Mac to your PS device with minimal effort
Right off the bat, PS Remote Play prompts you to connect a wireless controller to your Mac via USB: the gadget will be used to control the gaming system. It is also advisable to use the app only if you have a high-speed internet connection.
The next step is to provide your Sony account credentials, and the application will try to establish a connection on its own.
Set up the PS device to be controlled from a remote location
Worth mentioning is that you must enable the Remote Play function on your PS device beforehand. Just navigate to the Settings menu on the device, open the Remote Play Connection Settings panel, and make sure the Enable Remote Play checkbox is ticked.
Moreover, within the PS Power Save Settings panel, you must make sure the Stay Connected to the Internet and Enable Turning On PS from Network functions are enabled. This will ensure that you can control the gaming system from your Mac even if the PS is in rest mode.
